Daddy-O Raises the Flag at Carl's Corner Truck Stop
in Celebration of Willie Nelson’s Latest Biodiesel Venture, "Bio Willie".

GM's vehicles-particularly its trucks-have become almost synonymous with Texas' culture of ruggedness, dependability, innovation and pride in heritage. To commemorate this 50-year legacy in Texas, GM has commissioned Texas artists in select cities to transform ordinary GM trucks into unique works of art. The "Trucks for Texas" campaign strives to represent the Texas spirit and celebrate the many cultures that make this state exceptional. Nationally recognized Austin artist Bob "Daddy-O" Wade was selected to transform a 2005 Chevy Silverado into his own work of art. Trucks like this will be featured in cities throughout the state of Texas and donated for use to local charities. GM will donate Austin's truck to The Nature Conservatory at the end of the campaign.

Wade's design reflects Austin wildlife and Texas culture with a landscape design featuring the Colorado River as it rolls through the Austin Hill Country. Various Texas creatures, such as the armadillo, jack rabbit and bucking bronco are featured in the design. Wade also designed an actual garden-scape in the bed of the vehicle complete with live plants and a working fountain.
